I teach students in a Functional Skills Classroom who have severe educational deficits. These were enlarged during the at-home learning due to COVID-19, and we are working hard with paras and peer tutors to help these students make significant educational gains. One tool this project will help us create is "task boxes". These can be used both in the classroom and sent home with students to practice skills, or in the event that a student needs to be quarantined.
These task boxes are created to focus on an individualized skill and goal. we will use the printer, ink, and paper to create these individual activities to address student needs. The colored pencil boxes will be used to organize the materials in an easy-to-find way.
The light covers will help to create a less distracting classroom for students who struggle with severe autism so they can focus on the tasks needed to make educational growth.
