The stereotype is that teenagers hate to read. Well, I feel this is because they don't get to choose a book that they're interested in, or they don't see themselves in the characters that are in the books that I have in my classroom.
By adding a variety of texts in my classroom library it is my hope that my students will not only develop a love for reading, but also gain empathy, experience diversity, and become better human beings after they travel to different worlds. These books will add to my choice reading assignments that I have throughout the year.
