I teach students with a variety of different ages and developmental needs in my functional self-contained classroom. No matter their age or their ability each of them enjoy sensory items some enjoy feeling textures through their feet and others who prefer to use their hands.
With COVID-19 still being a prevalent issue, my students need something that they can have their own of and easy to sanitize. These items can be sent home or be used at home to help get jitters out during instructions. I am a teacher of a Title I school, where most family incomes are unable to provide extra sensory objects for them.
