I work with small groups of middle school students that enjoy learning and absolutely love to move around. Research shows that station teaching increases productivity and promotes student-centered learning, which is something I am striving to implement in my class. I am requesting a personal laminator along with laminating pouches of different thicknesses so that we are able to reuse the task cards and station materials as groups rotate out of my class daily. In addition to the laminator, I have also requested dry erase boards in order to reduce paper consumption and provide the students with immediate feedback on their work. Some basic supplies are also needed for organizing journals, creating colorful anchor charts, producing flashcards used for studying, and sticky notes that will be used for exit tickets to assess what was learned. We have also secured internet-based web programs to help fill the gaps of struggling learners and in order for them to utilize these programs, I will need some headphones with microphones so that the online tutors can assist with any questions they might have.
By donating to this project you will not only be contributing to the academic achievement of my students, but you will also be increasing their desire to learn which in turn ensures their success! All of the supplies requested will make a difference in the educational performance of my students. My plan is aimed at filling the gaps and providing opportunities for my kids to be successful!
