My students attend classes on the block schedule. The block system has forever changed the amount of time dedicated to learning languages. One semester of Spanish 1 and one Semester of Spanish 2 are now considered the 2 yrs of language. This is not much time to acquire a new language, but I remain hopeful that the time my students spend learning how to speak Spanish and learning about the cultures of Spanish speaking countries will contribute to a desire to continue studies of the language into the college years and beyond.
I believe the new headpphones will allow us to experience clearer sounds, which are extremely important while learning languages, so that the students may mimic what they hear.
