Every morning we start our day off by reading a book. This is always my and my students' favorite part of the day! Whether it be a picture book, graphic novel, or chapter book, they are always so engaged and involved. I love that they are so immersed in the texts that I am reading to them. They love making predictions, inferences, and just simply laughing at silly pages or lines. I am so thankful that I get to be their teacher and take them places they've never seen or imagined before through pages of a book. We've gone to 54 Deckawoo Drive and hung out with a pig. We've been to the playground with Mean Jean, to a classroom with Penelope Rex, on a school bus with Pigeon, and lost our voices with Lacey Walker. While we have already gone on many adventures, there are still lots of "places" I would like to take them. I would love to visit the spooky halls of Eerie Elementary, help solve mysteries with Cam Jansen, go on adventures with Dog Man, and help save dragons with the Dragon Masters. By reading to them daily, I am helping them start a good and positive habit of simply reading and loving doing so! This class loves to read and has already made many book requests for our classroom library. I would love to add more chapter books since it's the main thing I'm lacking. I would love to add these titles to our room so that my students can have access to many types of books whenever they please. Thank you so much for helping me grow a love of reading in my students!
