A challenge arises with my low-level income students when they aren't able to grasp a concept or picture how or why the math works. These resources will be used for whole group, small group, and one-on-one interventions with the most struggling students. The students will use the manipulatives to gain a better understanding and own the content. The manipulatives will allow my higher-level learners to become teacher leaders and help their struggling peers. For example, students with decimals and their visualizations. The manipulatives will illustrate the difference between place values and assign a numerical value to them (.2 equals two of the tenths highlighted.) These manipulatives will definitely help in those student-to-student situations.
