Many of my students have been affected by the COVID 19 pandemic. This year is our first year back in the classroom and I want my students to have a safe space to express their emotions. As my students sit in the cozy area, they are able to read a book, play with a toy, draw a picture, and just have the ability to destress in a safe space. Once they are in a better mindset, can rejoin the rest the class in a better mood and be able to have a clearer mindset.
The cozy area will help my students whenever they are struggling emotionally. The cozy corner provides an emotional safe space and facilitate students regaining focus on instructional tasks. My goal is to use the cozy corner to facilitate my students developing positive strategies to manage their emotions and ability to deal with stress.
