These resources will help my students become more engaged. In Pre-K, we do a lot of hands-on activities that focus on social skills. When students utilize these manipulatives they will have the opportunity to practice their communication skills, socioemotional skills, and language development.
While we are focusing on math specifically, the items for this project will support my students across multiple content areas. An example of a lesson I would teach using these materials would be The Three Little Pigs. I will read the story and encourage the students to use the magnetic tiles to create their own homes that will withstand a strong (a blowing fan) wind. This lesson will encourage my students to think critically, problem-solve, adjust, and reflect. I love seeing their faces light up with a great idea!
