The DexBoard Magnetic Easel will help the students by allowing the class to use our Big Books properly and make them visible for all students. It allows my class to see the large books and for me, the teacher, to be hands free to point out important information in the book. It has wheels, which make it very easy to move around the room and use during any part of the day. The Easel will also be used for brainstorming ideas about projects the students are learning about. The large paper can be taken off the easel and placed on a wall for future review. My students will enjoy listening to the books we have requested as they learn about caring for the environment and the life cycle of a butterfly.
The daily schedule pocket chart and Twenty Seven countdown timer will help the students understand and be aware of the daily schedule. The pocket chart will help students that need extra preparation for changing activities to know what is coming next. The timer will help students learn time and begin to understand how much time is left when given an example like, "We have five minutes until recess." This will also help students that need extra time to prepare for a new activity.
The Swingline Paper Cutter will be used to cut all the books that the students will be reading and for any projects that will be done in class. The students have many books that are used for learning letters and numbers. These books need to be cut and stapled for all the students. Having a paper cutter in class would help me spend less time cutting and more time planning appropriate activities for my students.
