Because I work with students with disabilities, asking them to sit up straight, in a hard chair, for a long period of time is already asking too much (and that's before asking them to work hard as well). I am looking to create a space for my students to feel comfortable and that will make them want to work.
I am requesting a carpet and pillows for a place where my students will want to work but be comfy at the same time with flexible seating! A work space where they can work independently, take a brain break, or work as a group is what I dream for my students. I have a table that can sit very close to the ground because my students often want to work on the ground where they can wiggle. A new rug and pillow seats would allow them to be able to work comfortably at my floor table.
These pillows would provide a comfortable space for them to sit at the table and the rug will allow students to sit with a clipboard while working. We ask a lot of our students throughout the day and the least I can do as one of their teachers is to give them a space where they would enjoy working in.
