Inner-city kids often lack opportunity to learn about STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) in the outdoor environment.
We want to expand our urban students' knowledge of plants and gardens, while incorporating the use of scientific equipment. Having the proper tools to help them carry out scientific inquiry is essential for critical thinking. They will learn relevant skills, be able to analyze data, and then draw conclusions and make changes from their results, all of which are real-world skills. As a bonus, we can help them foster a love of gardening that will last a lifetime!
