I teach at a Title 1 school in Georgia. Being Title 1 means that our school has a high percentage of children from low-income families. Many of my students receive free and reduced lunch. Despite these hardships, my students come to school excited and ready to learn. By having these iPads it will create a world of possibilities for the structures of learning in my classroom. There is a multitude of ways these iPads will be utilized. Students will be able to engage in research, which will allow them engage in learning about subjects of their own interest. Students will work with their literature groups through blogging. They will be able to respond to their reading, while communicating and collaborating with their peers. Students will be able to create visual presentations, record reenactments, and strengthen reading and writing skills. These iPads give my students the ability to present a written book report in an interactive way. This Donors Choose Project will help to fill in gaps that can support student learning and success.
