In a world where times are hard and reality can be downright brutal, I have concluded that students need an escape. Everyone deserves an escape and an opportunity to be with fellow individuals from different walks of life. This year, my principal has allowed me to jumpstart a new organization on campus entitled Dungeons and Dragons. Though this is seen as a game by many, it is actually a way to build real-life skills. From exploring different regions and continents to using their imagination to defeat the odds the story and Dungeon Master have set before them. With these books, my students will have the opportunity to experience and enjoy as a group the game of Dungeons and Dragons, whether they are a player or the game master.
Additionally, this experience will expose them to pre-written stories that will eventually give them ideas on how to create and write their own stories. They then will be able to take this gift and spread the joy of this game and all it has to offer to others, and not one story will be the same. I am deeply appreciative of any help I can get towards making this vision a reality for my students. They are very excited to get this thing rocking and rolling and I am very excited to facilitate this experience for them.
