At my past school, I loved helping students learn about resources and economics through the board game of Catan. Students discovered the joy of competing while learning. Students are surprised to learn that it is very hard to trade resources that are abundant. They also learn the frustration of being so close to achieving their goals to see the economy change and frustrated their dreams to be the master of Catan. Many students walk away from Catan begging to play again and again to see if they can best their friends in this quest to be the master of Catan.

About my class
