Decodable books support the most current research in helping young children read. These books are phonics based and help children gain confidence as they progress on their reading journey. This project puts these decodable readers in the hands of young children each day. Children need opportunities to have books in their hands that have a variety of subjects and illustrations. They need books that have text that they can decode. This project will provide my students with various books and meet the needs of the children that are beginning to read and those that are a little bit further along in their reading journey.

About my class
