Our special education students work on challenging academic tasks throughout the school day and are asked to use skills that challenge to them physically, mentally and emotionally. The sensory refuge is scheduled throughout each child's day to destress and provide the sensory stimulation they need to stay calm. These short breaks allow them to relax and return back to class work refreshed, alert and read to learn. The soft lighting and bubble aquarium are relaxing and draws them unto the space. The seating is comfortable and can be used with the weighted blanket. The blocks allows them to use their creativity, the trampoline burns off excess energy and takes their minds off their class work. The flooring allows them to rest and play safely.
