Bug and insect exploration has always been fascinating in the PreK world! I am requesting materials which my students will use to incorporate bugs into their Language Arts, Math, and Science! Students will have the opportunity to explore real and artificial bugs, play lettering games with magnetic bugs, and create patterns with bug manipulatives!
Your generous donations to our project will give my students fun and exciting understanding of life cycles.
Providing science materials and activities gives my students an opportunity to develop vocabulary and learn to understand life cycle concepts. By creating safe, hands-on opportunities to explore their world, young children become aware of the wonders around them, beginning what can be a life-long interest in and concern for our environment.
My students are learning about the rock cycle and how weathering and erosion can affect rocks. This also plays into the law of conservation of matter. Hands-on activities like this are fun and engaging for my students and will allow them to see the weathering rocks in action. Normally this process takes a very long time. This project will show students how weathering can alter and break down rocks. Matter cannot be created or destroyed just change in form. Here my students will see how rocks can be weathered and eroded during the rock cycle.
