Our students are learning to speak, read and write in English as a new language. Because of online school and the global pandemic, a move to digital learning has helped our students in some ways, and made other things more difficult. Using real books in the classroom is an opportunity for students to make meaning out of written text. Graphic novels specifically provide comprehensible input for our learners, without the need to translate or use search engines to aid in understanding. These books can provide high interest content that is accessible to our students.
