This is my first year teaching 4th grade ALL subjects. Years and years pass and our Go Mathmanipulatives get lost, misplaced, borrowed and never to be seen again. With Covid protocols I do not have enough materials for my visual learners to all get their needs met during a lesson due to not enough Math manipulates such as base ten blocks, fraction pieces, protractors, etc., My students are rotating daily in their math centers with visual needs that cannot be fulfilled all at once with the shortage in materials for my class. I need my students to touch, see, count, feel what a flat, cube, or a ones is really like. Our Math centers is in need of dice in order to write a number in 3 different forms. I also am walking into new Reading subject material and novels are a must to expand students’ writing and author skills. I would love to bring in something new to our school, to my students by reading Holes which is and was my favorite novel of all time growing up. It was because of “Holes” by Louis Sachar that my passion for Reading grew tremendously. I would love to pass that on to my students so they can see various themes and compare the novel with the movie in order for their skills to expand. Please please help us with our project !
