My students are bright and curious. They enjoy our math time more than any other subject. I often find them singing the chants or songs or sharing the stories that we created in class to help them memorize their math facts or a tough concepts they just learned in class. Many strategies I come up with have to be simple to recreate at home, as their parents come from very low income levels and do not have much money to spend on supplies. These kids face a plethora of issues but still manage to come to school eager and ready to learn.
