These materials will help to make learning engaging and fun for my students with severe disabilities. They will help meet the various student goals in the areas of life skills, community living, functional math and functional reading! By using the materials, like the life skills books and money games, students will grow in their proficiency and independence in setting budgets, being able to order meals out, and know how much money is needed when going shopping. Students will also grow in their independence and ability to tell time which will help them maintain a job and live independently one day. Through the various life skills curriculum, I will design lessons that meet their unique IEP goals in these areas. Overall, these students will build necessary independent living skills to succeed post high-school from the implementation of these resources! Students will look forward to playing these educational games, reading stories provided, and simply completing activities with the art materials provided.
