I am requesting engaging phonics activities and sight word books that will help them to grow as readers. My students need so much! I plan to use the phonics activities and books during my ESOL classes in a learning rotation that will include explicit phonics instruction and word work, sight word instruction and reading practice with sight words books, explicit writing instruction and writing station, and computer time using Imagine Learning program.
I will also incorporate speaking practice and partner work into each of the rotations to develop listening and speaking skills. With this format students will develop in all areas that are needed for success in their literacy development. Let’s leap for literacy as we get these kiddos excited to grow as readers!
