I am requesting a variety of plants which will help welcome my students to their new classroom by creating an inviting space and will help purify the air to help keep us safe at the same time!
Everyone deserves to feel great returning to school after the last year and a half. These classroom plants will help create a warm and home-like space for my students to learn in. Additionally, the plants will be used to build community by creating jobs for the students who will care for the plants. The kids will learn how to care for the plants and work together to keep them healthy and green.
Research shows that plants and gardening in the classroom can have positive effects on peer relationships, self esteem and can be particularly beneficial to students with diverse needs. Later in the year, we will use the plants to conduct experiments as a part of our third grade science curriculum. I'm very excited to make the classroom feel exciting, beautiful and calm for my students with the help of our class plants!
