Have you ever heard of a classroom without a curriculum? My elementary special education classroom could use your help! My current hodge-podge curriculum is in need of replacement. Have you heard of Math-U-See? While it is a curriculum designed specifically for my population of students, it is out of budget unfortunately. Have you heard of Saxon Math? My district used this in the past and I would like to use the resources left over from it that I have access to, combined with Math Made Fun, to teach my students math with meaningful benefit. However, to do this, I need your help. The items listed will be used for manipulatives, generating lesson plan binders, adapted work binders, and centers. This will allow for building on lesson upon lesson and skill upon skill. Being successful and reaching milestones this school year, and the next school year, and the next after that sounds great, right!?
By funding this project, you will be helping bring a specialized math curriculum to my self-contained special education K-4 classroom that is designed specifically for special education and intervention! The students in my classroom will be able to learn at their own pace and be able to have the time built in for pre-teaching, teaching, and re-teaching when necessary. The manipulatives listed, like the counting bears, tangrams, peg boards, scale, clock, and calendar, are a great hands-on manipulative tools.
