During the day my students are given a snack break during the end of the day. This helps exponentially because my students eat lunch at 10:30 am and some do not have a guarantee of dinner at night.
I have found that after giving my students a snack, they are able to focus on our lesson without having to worry about a grumbling tummy. Knowing this, snack time is placed at 2:00 pm, which is after physical education and before phonological awareness time. All of the snacks chosen are already class approved!
