These books will be used during weekly library visits and checked out to students to help develop their reading skills through targeted, high interest, non-fiction and graphic novel titles. The students who will be checking out these titles are a part of an AR reading program and they use their library books within the program, both at home and at school.
It is important that we continue to develop our library collection by engaging our students in active learning through non-fiction titles that are relevant to their interests to help motivate them to grow both as readers and students. Graphic novels are also an important part of this project, because they easily encourage even the most reluctant of readers to reach for a book in the library.
