My students want to be comfortable in using the English language, but lack the vocabulary necessary to name items and engage in conversation skills. I have requested a photo printer, ink, and photo paper so my students can use photos of food choices, staff photos, and content vocabulary to help students access the needed English words and provide them the ability to participate and interact in class and peer discussions.
Allowing students to access the language and become comfortable in using the language will enable them to complete basic school tasks such as order lunch and learn staff member names. These photos will be given to students to reference content material as needed. Photos will change frequently as vocabulary is mastered and new material is introduced.
