Dear Donors,
I am a high school English teacher, and it is my goal to grow my students into life-long readers. Right now, my students are all under their grade level in reading Lexile scores. In an effort to build their reading skills (which is essential in all subject areas) and to help them develop a love or appreciation for reading, I have required all students to spend 10 minutes of class time reading. I call it Choice Reading, and the students are free to choose any school-appropriate and grade-level appropriate book to read on any topic. Unfortunately, our school has a very slim library selection, and I would like my students to hold actual paper books. I am trying to build my own classroom library so that students get exposure to a great selection that inspires them.
Thank you so much for your kindness and consideration.
Most Sincerely,
Ms. Erin Park
