To prepare our students to be responsible citizens of the global community, it is vital for them to have a basic knowledge of the current energy situation. This will help them make informed, evidence-based decisions concerning energy-related resources and engineering endeavors for a healthy, sustainable future.
Students will have the opportunity to investigate many different aspects of the different forms of energy, where they come from, and how they transform. They will explore how mechanical energy transforms into electrical energy and vice versa. They will also learn about renewable vs nonrenewable energy sources. These STEM kits will provide hands-on, inquiry-based investigations that stimulate student curiosity and engagement, which increases the potential for meaningful, relevant learning.
Additionally, through hands-on projects, students will learn how to assemble simple energy-related apparatuses, including a solar-powered fan. Students will be able to observe and measure how the electrical output of a solar panel varies with changing angles of a light source.
