This project will help my students by allowing them to hold the book in their hands to read independently, with a partner, small group, or with the entire class. They love the smell of new books, flipping the pages before any of them have been touched. They like being the first person to crack the spine and turn to page one. There are books at school that are torn, and stained and have pages missing. My students deserve better than that. The students will be very careful with these new books, and learn so much about characters, main idea with supporting details. I find students enjoy learning standards when the literature is interesting and intriguing. This book definitely lends itself to teaching the fourth-grade standards while enjoying the content of the story along the way! Win-Win!
About my class
