Our school is one of the most ethnically diverse school districts in our nation, which is a great asset in our community. However, with ethnic diversity also comes a vast difference in students' social economic classes. I have students whose parents work for Boeing as well as Food 4 Less. It is my job to fill in some of the gaps that our at-risk students face. So whether I buy spiral notebooks or give students pens and pencils, I try to be proactive in leveling the playing field for all my students.
