My high school students are so eager to make art in my classes. These teens are very excited to try new media and materials. I have more art students this year and we need more drying rack space for our wet projects. The cyanotype chemicals and fabric sheets are photo sensitive materials are a great way to integrate science and photography in my art class. The materials are not just the standard paint and paper, these are sun UV sensitive and will allow us to make sun prints with items collected in our quad and desert environment. The students will take samples of plant life from the school quad and place of the cyanotype paper and fabric, expose to the sun light /UV and expose for a 20+ minutes depending on the UV index (science racking UV throughout year/seasons).
After they will wash off chemicals, let dry (on that drying rack needed) and use acrylic paint to embellish the floral and plant artworks.
