I have an amazing third grade class full of very creative students. We are at an Arts Magnet School. Most of the students at our school are socioeconomically challenged second language learners. They don't have many of the same experiences that children from higher socioeconomic areas have. I try to give them a well rounded education by including music and art into my lesson plans. An example of this is drawing pictures of vocabulary words instead of just writing words. All learners need different modalities in which to learn.
