Too many kids these days do not get outside enough. As a teacher, I see how much time kids spend on their phones and surrounded by technology. It's fantastic that students are not afraid of technology. However, they may be losing touch with the outdoors. My school offers a program called "Deep Dives", where every adult on campus is allowed to teach a class of their choosing. As a previous Wildlife Biologist, I chose to educate my students on birds and other local flora and fauna.
What I am asking for is a small donation to help provide each of my students with binoculars for the duration of the course. Our school is adjacent to some beautiful wetlands and ponds that are filled with migrating birds during this time of year. My course will mostly be in the field identifying different birds by sight and sound. As we walk around the wildlife areas we will also ID any native or exotic invasive plants we see.
