In my classroom, I use many different supplies to help engage and provide practice for first graders' learning. The seat organizers will help store those supplies. My students use a whiteboard every day to practice writing, spelling, and mathematics. The board and markers are placed on a table in the back of the classroom because there is not enough space on their small desk.
These Over-The-Seat organizers will allow the students' supplies to be readily available for quick use and non-disruptive storage. My goal is for the students to store the board, dry-erase markers, and math manipulatives in them.
The manipulatives are stored in a closet now, but if they had them hanging on the back of their seats then we could use them more often. We are only given an hour to teach a math lesson. It takes a lot of time to hand out all of the math manipulatives to 20 students. However, with the seat organizers, the supplies would be at their desk at all times and ready to be able to use in engaging lessons.
