All students have sensory needs that can distract them from their academics. However, there are a lot of tools available to help them focus on academics while still meeting their sensory needs. It is my goal to help my students learn in any way I can. They already want to learn, minimizing distractions provides one of the best ways to help meet their learning goals.
This project will help my class meet their sensory needs by providing a plethora of tools for them to use while helping them meet their academic needs with a couple of academic tools too. I wish there was a great way to learn phonics and writing while running around, but I've yet to find it. In the meantime, I know that as we minimize distractions from our bodies we can better engage our brain academically.
