My students are currently learning reading through the workshop model. Students choose their own book to read. Each day, students are taught a specific reading skill. They then practice the skill using the book of their choice. This model allows for student choice and they love it.
This means they are reading...a lot! They read every day at school and every night at home. My students have fallen in love with reading and my library needs some refreshing. These books will add richness to our classroom library so students are never saying "I can't find anything to read!"
