Like many of us, our students have spent most of the last year indoors and inactive, so getting out to play is more important than ever. We have a large outdoor area with few resources to make it purposeful and engaging.
The simple pleasures of familiar favorites like balls, jump ropes, hula hoops and a parachute will make a major difference for them. It would also be awesome to introduce them to unfamiliar active play materials, such as, lacrosse sticks and stilts. Having a megaphone will allow adult and peer coaching. And the pop tubes are perfect for my friends with sensory issues who like to find a quiet corner to themselves.
