These materials will allow my students to broaden their experience in science. They will be able to use hands-on activities in earth and applied that supplement their learning in school in order to make the concept more relevant to their learning. For example, the rocks will give the students a notion of the diverse shapes, textures and component in a rock. They can use this information adapt it to their personal knowledge. Later, we can transition to making the rock lesson into an art project to integrate diverse disciplines for a exciting learning experience.
