Fourth, fifth and sixth grade students visit the art room twice a week. Keeping a sketchbook really encourages students to have the confidence in expressing themselves visually. A lightbox would also help students trace their already done work into different mediums and discovering new techniques.
Sketchbooks are not confined to just drawing. Students can use it to explore different mediums, study different techniques, design patterns, create color pallets and to keep a collection of their visuals that inspire them and others. Seeing the variety of mediums in a sketchbook help grow creativity and new ideas.
