Health is such an important subject for students to learn. In my classroom, I teach students that Health isn't just a subject, it is how we live our lives. Students are taught to work hard if they want good grades. The only way for them to achieve this is through materials and supports for the content. Just like academic achievement, Health is something all people can work hard to achieve. The "Choices" magazines are an amazing supplement to the classroom curriculum to bring real life stories and experiences to students. I tell my students that it is not my job to tell them what to think, it is my job to teach them facts in an unbiased manner. The goal in education is supporting students in the development of their own ideas and thoughts.
Educational Supports like the "Choices" magazine, will help my students connect with health through relatable experiences and stories. The magazines focus on a different component of health through the monthly issues. The magazines will come in both a digital and paper copy for the classroom. The two options will help me serve the needs of both students in the classroom, as well as those who will be learning at home. In addition to the magazines to support learning, I would love to have fidgets and alternative seating to support learning in the classroom. My students are important to me, and I want them to have the resources to be successful and grow into healthy adults.
