Play-based learning is so beneficial to my pre-k students. It helps engage them in their education and has many cognitive, physical, social, and emotional benefits. It helps them use their imaginations and 21st century critical thinking skills. By donating these materials, they are afforded an opportunity to help them learn and play getting the necessary skills they need to be successful in all domains of development. For example, the counting toy help children explore math concepts such as measurement, more and less. Students are asked open-ended questions to help them problem solve and explore 21st century skills.
