Social Skills are in high demand in our community. In this world of differences, we need to increase positive interactions. We are all different because of economics, culture, education, and other background factors. I need to encourage my students to be more socially accepting of others and to provide tools that will help them develop these skills. These materials will encourage and promote acceptance of others as well as skills to control anger, impulsivity, and their attention span. These tools will teach my scholars how to accept others through group activities in class. They will use cognitive behavioral games to build self-esteem and anger regulation skills during group activities. The multiple activities will allow them to discuss and role play differences they see in themselves and others. This falls into social-emotional learning as well. Students need to learn to be aware of their feelings. These materials will enable us to have groups within our classes to promote and encourage diversity.
