Beginning with the 21/22 school year, I want to help every student build a home library with 100 new and gently used books every year. Reading unlocks the doors of opportunity and possibility within the mind.
My students and their families lack the resources to buy books for a home library; however, they are full of a desperate desire for stories and books they can call their own. According to Evans et al. (2010), "Children growing up in homes with many books get 3 years more schooling than children from bookless homes, independent of their parent's education, occupation, and class." Your donation will positively impact my students' lives while they are here and beyond. The Canvas Tote Bags will serve as a vehicle to continuously transport books to students' homes.
