Our back-to-school transition has looked different in many ways this year. As we continue to adjust and build our classroom community we are following a responsive classroom approach. A student-centered, social and emotional learning approach to teaching and learning.
The use of sensory tools in the classroom has many learning benefits that promote self-regulation, movement, and tactile input. Sensory tools or fidgets are just one strategy that students have in their “toolkits” to help with focus and attention or to calm down. It would be great to have options so students can find what works best for them individually.
We have a colorful classroom but we are looking to have a little more organization! These materials would help us get there. Students often work in centers that are created based on their current literacy and math goals. The bins and the trays will allow students to keep organized and have a designated space to access their materials. The different center resources will help keep students engaged and in charge of their own learning.
Technology is changing and becoming part of our daily routine. Our students are craving time to use and explore learning resources beyond our classroom. With the materials requested students will be able to access different online learning platforms that tailor to individual student interests. These materials will help support our students reach and go beyond their individual learning goals.
