In a bilingual classroom students need many opportunities to use their native language to acquire a second language. Books are just one way that students can discover the world in which they can only hear about and not see. Literature can give substance, purpose and curiosity to students who need outlets of entertainment and enjoyment.
These books will be used in many different ways such as; discovery of knowledge, discovery of language, curiosity, enjoyment, purpose, resource for research. My students will also be able to borrow the books, take them home and share with their families. Some of my students only can use books to be able to view the world in which they live in.
