Working outdoors can be such a benefit especially in a location where the weather is not a mitigating factor. This is especially true during the current COVID-19 pandemic that has adversely affected schools; students need the open air and to not be confined to the classroom. We have been able to achieve 3 feet of social distancing despite the fact that there are 25 to 30 people at a time crammed in our classroom. We recently have been able to venture outside again- it hasn’t been too hot- and the kids loved it. The only challenge, the lack of shaded areas for the students to work under. The canopy that we will be receiving, hopefully, will go a long way in keeping kids cool while outdoors.
