My kids are not in the position to purchase novels needed for the class. Our school was badly damaged from Hurricane Ida and the school copies are gone. The books will be taken home to use then returned at the end of the unit. The students will practice writing thesis like claims and then support those claims with evidence from the novel. Then they will write an essay on a previously used open question from an AP English Literature and Composition exam. Finally, once this essay is graded, they will revise the essay based on teacher feedback.
