As a first year teacher in a low income community, I am looking to build my music program but don't always have the budget to do so. My students are dying to play instruments and are making do with with what we have (which right now is just drumsticks) but I would love to get them pianos/keyboards to expand their musical knowledge and give them a more hands on experience in the music classroom.
Having these keyboards will allow us to create and perform together in the classroom and dive into many different types of music that is more applicable to middle school aged children. Also having this one to one ratio will allow my students to express themselves musically in the classroom which is so important at this age.
